Privacy First Page Reloading & Monitoring

This Privacy Policy applies to the Auto Refresh by CBP — Page Monitor & Auto Reload Chrome extension created by Code Burst Pro ("we", "us", or "our"). We believe your web browsing activity and personal data belong solely to you.

1. Core Privacy Principles & Zero Data Collection

Auto Refresh by CBP is engineered to operate 100% client-side inside your web browser.

  • We do not collect, track, monitor, or store any personal data, user credentials, or browsing history.
  • We do not use tracking cookies, analytics frameworks (such as Google Analytics), or behavioral profiling.
  • We do not transmit any data to external servers or remote databases.
  • No user registration, user account, or subscription is required to use any feature.

2. Local Storage & Data Retention (`chrome.storage.local`)

All extension settings and configurations are stored exclusively on your device within your browser's isolated local storage (chrome.storage.local). This data never leaves your computer.

The following items are saved locally to provide seamless extension functionality:

  • Extension Preferences: Default refresh intervals, visual countdown overlay visibility toggles, smart pause sensitivity, and dark/light UI theme choices.
  • Per-Domain Memory: Saved website domains and custom refresh intervals configured for auto-start on page visit.
  • Active Refresh Jobs: Transient timer state, target tab IDs, remaining countdown seconds, and target refresh counters.

3. Browser Permissions & Justification

To deliver reliable auto-refresh capabilities, the extension requests minimum necessary Chrome permissions. Below is a detailed technical justification for each requested permission:

storage

Used to persist user settings, UI themes, and per-domain auto-start configurations locally on your machine.

alarms

Schedules low-overhead background countdown timer events without consuming system CPU or battery while idle.

tabs

Enables tab reloading upon timer expiration, matching active tab URLs against saved auto-start rules, and showing active tasks in the popup dashboard.

scripting

Used to inject the non-intrusive floating countdown overlay (isolated inside Shadow DOM) and user interaction detectors (pause on scroll/type/mouse movement) into active tabs.

activeTab

Allows the user to trigger single-click auto-refresh tasks on the currently focused tab directly from the extension popup UI.

notifications

Sends optional desktop alert notifications when a refresh job completes its auto-stop count or hits a user-defined limit.

host_permissions (http://*/*, https://*/*)

Required to perform tab refreshes, bypass browser cache (hard refresh), and render the floating visual countdown pill across user-designated websites.

4. No Remote Code Execution Policy

In compliance with Google Chrome Web Store Manifest V3 Security Directives, Auto Refresh by CBP does not contain, fetch, load, or execute any remotely hosted code.

All JavaScript files, HTML templates, icons, and styling components are 100% bundled locally within the extension installation package (.crx / ZIP). No external CDN scripts, remote scripts, or dynamic code evaluations (eval() or new Function()) are executed.

5. External Network Requests & Third-Party Links

The extension operates independently without connecting to external server infrastructure. The only outward web interactions are:

  • Website Favicon Icons: Favicon image previews displayed in the active jobs dashboard are rendered using Google's public favicon service (https://www.google.com/s2/favicons).
  • External Links: Clicking website or support links in the popup or options page will open https://www.codeburstpro.com in a standard web browser tab.

6. User Control & Data Deletion

You have complete control over all saved data at all times:

  • Reset via Settings: You can clear saved auto-start domain rules or reset default interval preferences directly from the extension's Options page.
  • Uninstalling the Extension: Removing the extension from Chrome automatically and permanently deletes all stored preferences and local data from your browser storage.

7. Policy Changes & Updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to align with new features, browser API updates, or Web Store requirements. Any modifications will be published directly to this page with an updated modification date.
